We are raising funds for 7 scholarships for mothers and daughters to attend our "Mommy & Me" Web Development Boot Camp for free.
(Grandmothers/granddaughters & Aunties/nieces welcome too!)
Webgyrlz Code has been teaching computer programming in the Midlands of South Carolina since 2015. We have seen there is a need to expand our outreach.
In 2023 Webgyrlz Code will launch our "Mommy & Me" Computer Science Boot Camps ™. Programming classes that take a 2-generational approach to bring more female software engineers into the workforce.
Our next "Mommy & Me" Web Development Boot Camp will be in Sumter, South Carolina April 8, 2023.
The Saturday boot camp teaches students how to use HTML & CSS computer code to build a one-page website.
- The day ends with enrolling the adult learners in the free, self-paced SC Codes programming course to help them move to the next step of becoming a software engineer.
- The girls will attend a bonus session to learn how to use their creativity to build online games and animations.
- Both groups will also attend a career discussion to learn what it’s like to be a female working in the tech industry.
